Regardless of whether you are friends with the known donor of your child(ren), a sperm donor agreement is a must.  The earlier you have the agreement drafted and executed the better although a properly drafted written agreement is better than no agreement at any time.

Designate a custodial guardian for your kid(s):

Should something happen to you, you probably want your life partner to continue caring for the kid(s) that you guys raised or are raising together.  Make sure you properly place your wishes in writing.

Where will your child(ren) be born?:

Have you considered giving birth outside of Florida or even the United States?  This may not be a bad idea if you were planning to apply for a second partner adoption with a court order anyway.  Being born in another country may prohibit your child from serving as our president but it may assure him or her that each of his mothers or each of his fathers will always be his or her primary caregivers throughout his or her minority.
